Establishment of the Secret School
From Christodoulos Pantazis, who was a member of the Filiki Etaireia and an associate of Rigas Feraios. A copy of the *Charta* (Map) of Rigas Velestinlis was kept in Kato Panagia as a family heirloom but was destroyed in 1922.

War of Independence
Our village actively participated in the Revolution of 1821, contributing 40 brave fighters to the Phalanx of the Ionians.

Sack of the Village
The Turks loot the village out of revenge. Execution of Christodoulos Pantazis.

1886: 5,200 inhabitants; 1922: 7,000 inhabitants, all Greeks.
